Kulsoom Nawaz Sharif writes about Army take over and its possible reprecusions on Pakistan .......

• LAHORE: (Pakistan) ...Kulsoom Nawaz, the wife of former prime minister Mian Nawaz Sharif, has written a book titled Jabr aur Jamhooriat on the political situation of Pakistan since the military takeover of 1999 and its effects on national and international politics. The book consists of 30 chapters in which Kalsoom writes in detail about Nawaz Sharif’s achievements in his two terms in office, the causes of the dissolution of the Nawaz government in 1999 by General Pervez Musharraf and the subsequent difficulties faced by the Sharif family. Her son Hussain Nawaz, son-in-law captain (r) Safdar, and brother-in-law and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz President Mian Shahbaz Sharif also helped narrate the story about the difficulties they faced in Adyalla jail. Kulsoom mentions in the book that the military rulers in 1999 offered Nawaz Sharif to resign as prime minister and support military action in the country. In another chapter, she describes her negotiations with the establishment for securing Nawaz Sharif’s release and later the exile of the Sharif family to Jeddah for 10 years.
