There goes Fathers' Day ....

APPRECIATION FOR JOB WELL DONE IS WHAT FATHERS WANT TO HEAR Dear Abby - Sat Jun 18, 8:13 PM ET

DEAR ABBY: Today is Father's Day, so why don't we try to do more for our dear old Dad than give him the usual greeting card that promotes the idea that all dads are imbeciles, followed by a collect call to see what he thought of the card..

Qadeer Akther Butt, from Pakistan, was the first to call me here and wish Fathers' Day greetings. I spoke to Aleena and Ahmed. I could not talk to his other two girls as they can't speak. Then after a while I talked to Rukshee and Sarah. They had purchased the calling card to ring me a day earlier. Then around in the evening it was Touqeer Ali Butt, my other son, living in London (UK). It was refreshing to talk to him for over one hour. He was happy that I was fine here, with Helen. Tanvir and Anne did not talk to me. I wanted to hear something about them but there was no news. Anne was reported to be in Lahore but I did not know or I would have talked to her. I so long for her kids.I will, however, talk to them when they reach back home, Narowal.

Here it was Ramona who invited me a lunch party to honor me. When I reached her home I was surprised to see all the kids there. There was Scotti, Alysa and our sweet lady Shelbie (I call her a lady, which she is). Later we were joined by Lorie and her husband, Danny. It was a wonderful experience to sit with them and enjoy. All of them gave me gifts. All the kids addressed me as "Baba" (meaning father in my own language) and presented by with cards in which they wished me a lot of things. I really enjoyed it. Ramona made American pie for me on this occasion.

(Father's Day is the day when the most collect calls are made. hah ahaa, is it so)
