Can a General afford 'fair' elections in Pakistan.

Local Bodies elections in Pakistan are scheduled for August, 05, and are to be held in different stages. Elections in Pakistan used to be held on ONE day basis in the past. Present step is aimed to see that they are conducted according to the wishes of the King. If it is found that they are not coming up on the right lines the people fear that the Government will toe them to the right direction with the help of the Government Agencies. It may be recalled that Benazir and Nawaz have refused to toe General Musharraf's terms and for that reason Gerneral is left with no option to have these local election on the lines of his refrendum like 'show' with the help of which he became the President of Pakistan. These local elections are definitely going to affect the coming General Elections in 2007 and, the General wants to stage another win so that he can continue upto 2012.
