I have worked as a News Correspondent of Daily The Pakistan Times, Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan for over 30 years. Later worked for Daily Jang, Lahore, for a couple of years. Worked for Airlines' GSA for over 2 years in their Sales Wing. I have also worked with Pakistan Government in its Kashmir Division, Home Affairs, as Chief Compiler in Census Directorate (1961-63). Now I am working as a Free Lance Journalist in USA contributing newsletters to various national newspapers.
General Pervez Musharraf says that Mukhtar Mai is free to go abroad and that he has full faith in her and in her patriotism. He believes she wont bad mouth Pakistan, a fear that he expressed only some days ago while touring New Zealand.
It is good to know that the governments paranoia has abated. It shows that General Musharraf is not a rigid person and that when the need arises he is quick to shift position. But is this a change of heart or mind?
