You agree that there are two sections of people in USA who have different thinking on what is going on in the world today, especially on the Iraq war.
Apart from these groups in America the third party is the followers of Usama bin Laden, who think just the way you do regarding the war in Iraq and killings as just. So unfortunately the three sections continue following their own hard lines but people continue to suffer. This is one side of the story.
The other side of the story is that there are simple Muslims traped in between these three parties living in US. What is happening around the world is not connected to these simple Muslims but they are faced and paying the price of being Muslims just for the acts of some Muslim who are called the terrorists. A ordinary Muslim is no way connected to these groups of terrorists, who claim that they are re-actionaries and, have become so as do or die people (one may call them terrorists) but ever since 9/11 I have seen almost all these simple Muslims are on the defensive in USA. They even fear putting up their point of view before the general public here. I seldom see them writing in the newspapers columns, as if they are 'condemned' already and, going their way with their heads down. I believe that this 'silent majority' of Muslims in the USA can be of great use and help in eradicating terrorism if taken into confidence. They are feeling better after 9/11 now, their confidence has improved, with the passage of time as compared to the hate they had to come across soon after the attacks in the USA but they still need more confidence from the White Americans and by the Government.
I am a 67 old journalist originally from Pakistan married to a white American woman, located in the middle of the country, who has always enjoyed the hospitality of the white Americans, but it is not the case with all Muslims here. By winning these simple Muslims terrorism can be eradicated shiftly and American Government and people should try this.
