Blessed with another grand-son.

I was blessed with another grand-son, second in line born to Romina and Touqeer Butt, at the Queen's Hospital yesterday (29th May). Romina is still in the hospital and I hope she will be discharged in a couple of days. I recieved good wishes and congratulations from Rukshee, Sarah, Tanveer and Anne, Qadeer and many more. It was a big occasion for all of us and I thank Allah (God) humbly for this gift. Now Touqeer, in London, is father of one daughter and two sons.

TV coverage !!!!

Under pressure? ......... ........ The other day, ARY TV broadcasted the so-called facts compiled by MQM about the Imam brothers of the Lal Masjid। It was followed by a live interview of the Imam himself. While he was narrating his side of the story, the telephone line dropped and the interview came to an end. ARY made no effort to get the Imam on the line again while they kept blaring the MQM 'facts' in the later news bulletins. Iraq war based on lies

Why Congress Should Embrace the Surge," by Owen West (Op-Ed, May 1), suggests that Congress and the American public should trust those who started and executed this war with 10 more years to "win." This misses the forest (a wrong war) for some trees (how to win).

Many Americans now see that the war in Iraq was based on lies and deceptions, misunderstanding of the task, and narrow ideologies of a few in power.

We see that it had nothing to do with terrorism, that it has destabilized the Middle East and increased the terrorist threat, ruined America's moral authority in the world, cost the world tens of thousands of lives, and that four years and hundreds of billions of dollars later, the United States clearly has not had a coherent strategy to "win the peace."

We don't know the best course out of this quagmire, but we know an unnecessary disaster when we see one.

So we have asked for change. We hope that these new leaders will find a solution.

Thank you for voting for time table

Dear Madam, I thank you for voting for Iraq withdrawal time table for US army. Over ONE MILLION people have been killed in Iraq and Afghanistan so far and more will be killed if the army operations continue. Immediate relatives of those killed in the war operations are turning into "re-actionaries" and becoming bombers which was further causing hardship to the people living in these countries. If war comes to an end there people, especially the Muslims, will feel relief. Then US has to support a serving army general as President in Pakistan, which is un-democratic, because of this war. All this will come to and end if Bush took the opportunity to withdraw the US forces from there. The US is spending money on this war but the private oil companies are getting the benefit of this war.
