A Sikh brother writes from Amritsar (India)..... His family belonged to an area near Narowal, Pakistan. . .Read with or after having a look at Darbar Sahib Kartarpur shrine picture which I have posted here earlier. Sikh community is requesting the Pakistan Government to allow passage to this shrine which is located at the bank of river Ravi along the India Pakistan international border, about 8 miles from Narowal. They have shown the desire to spend 1 billion rupees to renovate this shire in Pakistan. I had also demanded of the Pakistan Indian Governments to restore rail link between Dera Baba Nanak on the Indian side and Jassar (Narowal) on the Pakistan border, to reduce traffic mess at Lahore. A direct train can be run via Narowal, if this route is restored, between Islamabad and New Dehli, the two capitals of these two countries.
- To: "Zulfiqar Butt" Respected Butt sahib Salaam e laiqm Thanks for your kind letter. You are on the other side of barbed border. I need so many things from you. On the top of my list is that we continue this communication and contribute a little bit what ever we can do to bring the two brothers nearer separated for more than half a century. I will write u in details. It is too hot in Amritsar yesterday the mercury touched 45. I hope you have seen the photo gallery on the sight www.kartarpur.com You are a seasoned journalist. Please guide me how to improve it. with the blessing of Allah/Waheguru we see a tremendous public pressure on the Govt to soften the border. Last year it is estimated some 10 lakh people had darshan of Kartarpur Durbar sahib from the border in a single week. Let us see if Allah blesses us, Kartarpur is recognized as universal shrine. I am fully aware that you understand its potential. I come from village Alawalpur near Pakiwan opposite Madho Gol on the other side of border. Durbar Sahib used to be visible from my rooftop. I remember when I first saw it from relatively close quarters it was in 1964 right from the bank of raavi. It was such an angle that a deep regards some how developed in my mind for this shrine. My mother says we two brothers were born with the blessing of the baba at Durbar Sahib. My birth is 1951. There are many people in Batala I know who have migrated. If you can name any family I can approach them and start communication. My family is not migrant. Though my mothers pecca belonged to Mallah Bhabrha. Many of them were killed in 1947, when we had gone mad. I wish you come ahead and lead us if you can. Rest on the next mail. I am slightly sick today. Regards your brother b.s.Goraya
